Walking home late at night without a care in the world is something that many of us take for granted each day. However, for many people out there this is not the case. In Australia, 80% of men say they feel safe walking alone at night, where only 50% of women say the same (Liddy, 2018). The simple act of walking home late at night can induce crippling anxiety for a lot of people because they may not know whether or not their journey home will result in life-long trauma or potentially even be the end of their life.

So what exactly does it feel like to walk home late at night for some people?

Why don’t you see for yourself?

Can you get home safe?  This single-player first person virtual reality experience lightly guides a user walking home alone at night, drawing a silent narrative of anxiety and tension based on situations and events they might encounter.
